Tallinn Education Department
Tallinn Education Department is responsible for educational matters in Tallinn, and the administration of basic, general, vocational and hobby education in the town’s municipal institutions and other institutions managed by the Department. Also, it co-ordinates the information technological development of educational institutions, develops international co-operation in education, manages educational databases, etc.
Its main tasks include:
- shaping the educational policy in Tallinn;
- developing study environment and creating conditions for successful studies and education;
- counselling pupils, parents and institutions;
- financing educational institutions, and overseeing accounting.
Net Group provides Tallinn Education Department with central service desk which permits to process all received appeals for service-related help; guarantees the functioning of standardised ICT media (including the prevention and solving of incidents); provides ICT media configuration management database service (online overview of configuration); provides ICT media remote management (including the elimination of incidents on the location of an educational institution); and provides ICT services to communications managers (consultation, one-time developments). The customer chose Net Group as its service provider because of suitable price.
Keila Education Foundation
Keila Education Foundation is managed by Keila town schools unit, and the foundation’s goal is to unite educational institutions of the town of Keila.
Net Group offered to introduce high-availability cloud data centre and create central study platform for Keila Education Foundation. Net Group introduced central computer network with different segments (pupils, teachers, support staff, etc.). In addition, a domain on high-availability platform, file server, Live@Edu collaboration solution and the central study provisioning solution for computer class. A data centre has also been created. This helps to integrate IT services of all educational institutions in Keila (domain, file server, collaboration, etc.). This has notably improved the availability and security of the service. The system is better standardised and personal risk (knowledge owned by just one person) with system management has been reduced to a minimum.
Peetri kindergarten / basic school
The goal of Peetri kindergarten / basic school is to create conditions for every child to develop into an optimistic person who can cope in the changing society.
Net Group offered to introduce high-availability cloud data centre and create central study platform for Peetri kindergarten / basic school. Net Group introduced central computer network, also a domain on high-availability platform, file server, Live@Edu collaboration solution and the central study provisioning solution for the computer class, and desktop terminal solution.
A data centre has been created, and this provides necessary IT services to both school and kindergarten (domain, file server, collaboration, etc.). In the new building, the availability, security and management of the service has improved. The system is standardised and support service model has been created with personal risk (knowledge owned by just one person) with system management has been reduced to a minimum.
